Building a Community Platform for Warriors CSD

Grassroots organizations do some of the most important work in our communities. They show up for families that larger institutions overlook. But they often have the fewest resources to manage their operations.

Warriors Community Self-Defense (Warriors CSD) is a Los Angeles-based program teaching youth and families self-defense, rooted in Jiu-Jitsu traditions and indigenous warrior values. They run free and low-cost classes out of community centers in El Sereno and surrounding neighborhoods.

The Problem

As Warriors CSD grew, managing their program became increasingly complex:

• Family registration was done manually via text and social media DMs
• Liability waivers were paper-based and disorganized
• Class schedules had to be communicated across multiple platforms
• There was no central hub for their community

They needed technology — but couldn't afford a developer.

We partnered with Warriors CSD to design and launch a full community management platform that includes:

Family Registration System — Parents and guardians can create family profiles and register children for classes online.

Digital Waiver Management — Consent forms and code of conduct agreements are handled digitally, keeping everything organized and legally sound.

Class Scheduling & RSVPs — A live schedule shows upcoming training sessions with location, time, and available spots.

Donation Integration — A direct link to their community funding pool, making it easy for supporters to contribute.

Mobile-Friendly Design — Built to work on any phone, because that's what their community uses.

The Impact

Warriors CSD went from managing their program through DMs to having a professional platform that any nonprofit or community org would be proud of. Families can now register, sign waivers, and show up ready to train — without any back-and-forth with organizers.
