Our Story
California is the global capital of technological innovation. Yet across the state, thousands of small businesses, nonprofits, youth, and elders struggle to access the very tools created in their backyard. The AI revolution has made enterprise-grade solutions more powerful than ever — but the cost and complexity remain out of reach for many.
California Equity AI was founded on a simple belief: technology should create opportunity for everyone. We operate as a hybrid nonprofit–for-profit organization. Our free tier gives anyone immediate access to AI tools and training. Our affordable paid plans unlock advanced features — and every dollar from paid subscriptions directly funds community workshops, elder programs, youth scholarships, and small-business coaching for those who cannot afford to pay. We've already helped build platforms for Crystal Therapy Collection, Warriors Community Self-Defense, and GrantNavigator. Our goal isn't just to provide technology, but to build lasting, self-sustaining capacity within the communities we serve.
Why California Needs AI Equity
California is home to the world's most innovative companies — yet 60% of the state's small businesses report lacking the digital tools needed to compete. For nonprofits, the numbers are even starker: over 70% rely on manual processes that AI could automate. Youth and elders face compounding disadvantages in a rapidly changing digital economy.
Without intervention, the AI gap will deepen existing inequalities. That's why we built a hybrid model: free and low-cost access removes barriers, while paid-plan revenue sustains and scales the community programs that make the deepest difference.
